Still a huge favorite for this recent adaptation of the classic Charlotte Bronte, Jane Eyre . Written by Sandy Welch (to whom we owe already North & South), this mini-series of four episodes is a credit to the original work.
early age, Jane Eyre (Ruth Wilson), a penniless orphan, is entrusted to the Lowood Institution by an aunt who feels possessed by the devil, hate and mistreat. Despite the difficult living conditions of the orphanage, Jane it blossoms, becomes an intelligent and cultured girl and discovered a taste for drawing. At the age of nineteen years, she places an advertisement for a position as governess and is hired to teach Adele, a young French girl, collected by the master of the house, Edward Rochester (Toby Stephens), Jane does not meet any on.
Rochester is at first sight, a man boorish, brutal and mysterious. But over time, Jane learns to love Thornfield Hall, despite the strange noises and mysteries that seem to surround this place. She also discovers his employer and a friendship was born between ambiguous them.
For those who have never read the novel, this series is the perfect way to discover this history passionate, terrifying, dramatic, touching and beautiful. The actors are once again fantastic. Ruth Wilson is the perfect Plain Jane, and Toby Stephens camp, meanwhile, a Rochester formidable, dark, dangerous, funny and tortured: the male hero par excellence! Everything else is obviously extremely well done sets to achieve through the Photograhy.
Notice very enthusiastic, so this mini-series that makes you want to quickly get back into this wonderful novel.
