How To Test The Packets Sent

Synod 'for' or 'cons' Middle East? "By Michael Withers

-
On Friday, October 22, 2010, during the Fourteenth General Congregation, the Synod Fathers of the Catholic Church, meeting at the Vatican approved the "Final Message" of Special Assembly "for" the Middle East of the Synod of Bishops.
-
This "Final Message", here are four excerpts (annotated by me in brackets). First single "The Second Vatican Council document Nostra Aetate issued on dialogue with religions, with Judaism, Islam and other religions. There secondly, a continuous dialogue between the Church and representatives of Judaism. We hope this dialogue can lead us to act with responsibility to end the political conflict that continues to separate us and disrupt the lives of our country "(Note from Michael Withers: So there is a" political conflict continues to separate us and disrupt the lives of our country, "telling the church in the eastern section of the" Final Message "section on Jews is not aware that the Jews put an end to" political conflict continues "separate ecclesiastical oriental Jews" conflict that continues to disrupt Life in the countries where live his own ecclesiastical East, the Jews would then, according to the Oriental Church, guilty of "conflict that continues to disrupt life in countries where live his own church oriental, it's all cases that can be read in the chapter of "Final Message" dedicated to the Jews).
-
Second excerpt: "It is not permissible to resort to biblical and theological positions into an instrument to justify injustice. Instead the use of religion must be a person to see God's face in the other, and treat it according to the attributes of God and according to his commandments "(Note from Michael Withers: this paragraph, by itself, is perhaps the most haunting of the" Final Message "for the Special Assembly" for "the Middle East of the Synod of Bishops, in effect This paragraph is addressed to the Jews, yet if the Catholic Church put the paragraph in practice this would not be the "biblical and theological positions" that would inform Jewish and Christian Oriental Jews and Christians of the East on how to "see the face of God in the other, and treat it according to the attributes of God and according to his commandments," but if they are no longer the "biblical and theological positions" that would inform Jewish and Christian Oriental Jews and Christians of the East, the only "position" they have left is the "position" Koran. Is this really the point of view of the Holy See on "biblical and theological positions? Or simply tone-to-cons to a church-Muslim compatibility invented by clerics Oriental disoriented?).
-
Third part: "Citizens of the Middle East challenge the international community, particularly the UN, she worked sincerely for a solution just and lasting peace in the region, and that by implementing the resolutions of the Security Council and taking the necessary legal steps to end its occupation of Arab territories different. The Palestinian people will thus have an independent and sovereign homeland and live in dignity and stability "(Note from Michael Withers: definitely, the" Final Message "for the Special Assembly" for "the Middle East is the Synod of Bishops a message to both final and special and can even wonder if it was drafted by the synod of bishops, or has been drafted by the Organization of Islamic Conference, OIC. The phrase "international community" does not exist in the "biblical and theological positions" of the Catholic Church. The Eastern Church, who want to abolish the "biblical and theological positions" that should inform the Oriental Jews and Eastern Christians on how to see God's face in the other, and treat it according to the attributes of God and according to his commandments, the same church they now want oriental impose the concept of "international community" as the Development Organization Conference Islamic? The Eastern church do they want the Holy See applies the resolutions of the Security Council? In which case the Holy See will, in future, apply every single Security Council resolutions, not just those involving Israel. And then, the Eastern church do they want the Holy See for an end to "occupation of Arab territories different? But then, all "Arab territories", originally inhabited by Jews "Arab" Christians of the East and "Arabs" of the East, will be released. Freed from any Muslim occupation ; Occupation came from the Arabian peninsula from the seventh century, invade Syria, Lebanon, Israel, etc.. And then what do we speak at the end? Arabs or Muslims? Finally, read the famous "Final Message," the Palestinian people will "have an independent and sovereign country" where "legal measures" will put an end to "occupation of Arab territories different." First, I wonder what historical truth and what truth should be based geographical these "legal measures". Secondly, I wonder what historical truth and what truth should be based geographic the concept of "occupation of Arab territories different." And thirdly, I wonder what historical truth and what truth is based geographically the allegation that the Palestinians have the feeling that, in Judea and Samaria, "a sovereign and independent country", while the Originally, the only "independent and sovereign homeland" for Palestinians in the legal sense, historical and geographical, is Jordan. Our brave Eastern Church would abolish our "biblical and theological positions," and more of our brave Eastern Church would abolish historical truths and the truths of geography. But then, if we listen, we would be left?).
-
Fourth and last part: "The State of Israel will enjoy peace and security inside the internationally recognized borders. The holy city of Jerusalem can obtain the right to respect its special character, his holiness and religious heritage, for each of the three religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam. We hope that the two-state solution - the Synod writes "states" ... - a reality and not remain a mere dream "(Note from Michael Withers : Thus, our brave fathers Synod concludes, in fireworks, with both ends of sentences: "The State of Israel will enjoy peace and security." And: "The Holy City of Jerusalem can obtain the right to respect its special character." I am moved to tears. When the Catholic Church and Israel will do absolutely everything that their call for the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Conference, Arab League, NGOs, Fatah, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Muslim dictatorships as well secular and theocratic, then and only then, "the State of Israel may enjoy peace and security "and" The Holy City of Jerusalem can obtain the right to respect its special character. " Frankly, you believe in you?).
-
ended four excerpts (annotated by me in brackets) of the "Final Message" for the Special Assembly "for" the Middle East of the Synod of Bishops.
-
-
Good. For my part, I note that a Lebanese bishop of the Syriac rite, Bishop Anthony Raboula Beylouni, nevertheless had the courage to remind the sidelines of the Synod, that the Koran "orders to impose religion by force by the sword ", that" the Qur'an allows a Muslim to hide the truth of Christian and speak and act contrary to what he thinks and believes "that" the Koran gives Muslims the right to judge the Christians and kill them by the jihad. "
-
Bishop Anthony Raboula Beylouni also had the courage to remember that "Muslims do not recognize religious freedom, either for them or for others," The Muslim looks "dialogue with the superiority and with the assurance of to be victorious, "that discussed" the dogma "between Christians and Muslims is impossible and should be selected for the dialogue," themes " as well as "Christian partners capable and well trained, brave and pious, wise and prudent" (End of excerpts from remarks by Bishop Antoine Raboula Beylouni, remarks on the sidelines of the Synod, remarks which, of course, does not appear in the "Message end "of the Special Assembly" for "the Middle East of the Synod of Bishops).
-
-
So I will take for my case, the comments - wise and true - Bishop Anthony Raboula Beylouni. I will remember, too, the constant magisterium and theology of the Catholic Church ever since fourteen centuries of Islam, especially in the writings of saints. I remembered, too, about the doctrine of Islam, delivered by Benedict XVI at Regensburg University and the College of Bernardine.
-
I will remember always, the writings on Islam and / or Judaism, St. Bernard of Clairvaux, Father Pierre-Marie Soubeyrand, Father Alain René Arbez (see link at bottom of page in the source) ; Cardinal Charles Journet, Jean-Marie Cardinal Lustiger, the theologian Claude Duvernoy; the Philosopher Jacques Maritain, Professor Kurt Hruby, Professor David Flusser, Jean-Daniel Knight (Primo Europe) Father's Shufani d ' Yves Chevalier (Revue Sens); Brother Ephraim, author of "Jesus, Jew, Fayard, 1987.
-
I will remember always, the writings on Islam and / or Judaism, Father Stephen Richer, author of "Loving Israel: Why? "In Pneumathèque, Editions of the Beatitudes, in 1995, Laurent Murawiec, the historian Bat Ye'or, author of" Europe and the spectrum of the Caliphate, "in The Provincial Letters in 2010, George Weigel, biographer John Paul II and Benedict XVI, Richard Neuhaus, editor in chief of First Things'; the theologian Michael Novak, the Catholic journalist Jean-Marie Allafort; Father Michel Remaud, and many others that I can not mention everyone here.
-
However, I would not hold the comments - media, anachronistic and heretics - of these ecclesiastical East disoriented, I wonder if, as implied Bishop Anthony Raboula Beylouni, well trained , brave, pious, wise and prudent (see above comments about this Bishop Anthony Raboula Beylouni ...).
-
In view of the Catholic Church and its 2,000 years of history in the light of eternal life, in the light of historical truth and geographical the "Final Message" of the church of the East disoriented, "Final Message" approved Friday, October 22, is already today Tuesday, October 26, more than dust.

The Catholic Church in France is far from out of the crisis.

An anthropological reflection on faith.

The Catholic Church in France is far from out of the crisis, almost. Already, for starters, Christian Unity remains a pious wish, the Catholic French were showing unable to stay - at first - united among themselves.
-
For indeed, for forty years, the Catholic Church in France is divided into traditionalists (by themselves they would be "the Church always") progressive, charismatic (they would be "a chance for the Church"), modernist, conservative, Catholic-socialist, Catholic-de-l'UMP, Catholic Christine Boutin, Catholic Sire Philippe de Villiers, etc.. etc.. etc..
-
One can always retort that this would be a natural diversity of Catholics in France, natural diversity that lie within the unity of the Catholic Church in France. To which I reply that the problem is not diversity in unity.
-
The problem is that through the life and writings saints and saints, the Roman Catholic Church was built in 2000 years, an anthropology of the human person, but that anthropology no longer lived in the Catholic Church in France.
-
It is not even experienced by those who, with false humility, claim re-teach (or re-invent?) This anthropology - Catholic, Christian and Judeo-Christian - of the human person.
-
Thus, Bernardine College in Paris, such a priest from the charismatic renewal states that everyone must forge his own philosophy, which is not exactly what one is right to expect from a university college that teaches Catholic theology and then stop to say that this College is a Catholic and appending it to the Sorbonne.
-
Similarly, the Institute of Comparative Philosophy (CPI), also in Paris, became the place of social gatherings (for weddings?) For cathos preppy, sometimes conservative, sometimes traditionalists, but in both cases, secluded in a vacuum, light years away from the real challenges facing the Church, including the crucial question of the spectrum of the caliphate that weighs on Europe.
-
crucial question developed by historian Bat Ye'or in "Europe and the spectrum of the Caliphate ', published by The province, in 2010; question I back at my TV interview with ZE MAG last September (in the series College Bernardine and Institute of Comparative Philosophy, could be cited, but would be ridiculous, to Nongiugruob Soporhtnalihp Institute, founded by Nicomedes Santa Butterfly, head of the household Eufrankenstein at Yessanipe, near the town of Agony at Muristan).
-
Regarding the crisis in the Catholic Church in France, some recent events, occurring within it, confirm it - if we had yet to confirm - that this same Church is far from out of the crisis.
-
In September 2010,
News France, made a brief assessment of provisional States-General of Christianity (the term "general state of Christianity 'forming already, itself, a form both anachronistic, vain and misguided): "An assembly rather old, and very often the reader of Life (Michael Withers Note: 'Life', Media alter-Catholic at the edge of bankruptcy), worried about the gap between today's Church and his own faith. "Humanae Vitae (Encyclical on life) marks a setback from the council" deplores such as Jean-Pierre Mignard, avocat (Catholic socialist) who advocates "a new council" bottom ".
-
'News from France, adds: "In the auditorium, the speakers are more forthright:" I do not agree with Mr. Tugduall Derville, how can you be sure to hold the truth? " asked one participant in the national delegate of the Alliance for Human Life, Association for the dignity of the embryo, during the debate "a Christian can get out-of-law?". "We are young, it does not arise at all these issues". "
-
'News from France is continuing, "" Me, I agree with Benedict XVI. I do not recognize myself in the assembly, "complained a student at the exit to a professor of theology at the IIFAC , a structure attached to the Institut Catholique (Note to Michael Withers' the Catho, who by dint of relativism and islamophile is less and less Catholic), who replies: "This is a generation that has been marked by Mai 68. But feel free to express yourself, to show just another face of the Church ...". But youth is conspicuous by its absence. (...) "That's Life, which holds, it immediately gives me less desire to go," says Jean-Francois, a young professional near the Chemin Neuf (Note from Michael Withers: a new community). "Readers of The Life to me is that these cathos meet in the evening but do not go to Mass on Sunday "he continues."
-
'News from France, writes: "Leaving a conference, Pauline, Master student of history, is rising:" These are people who have discomfort in their faith, Church and want to adapt to them rather than not. They do not know anything and they want to speak anyway. (...) And then they complain that the Church does not move, but it is them who are struggling to move! ".
-
'News from France' concluded by quoting this student:" It's all rather Gabriel smile, student, too: "Should we expect anything else? The simple proposition 'of the States-General of Christianity', organized at the initiative of a single newspaper Franco-French at the edge of bankruptcy a little smile "(Note to Michael Withers: it makes her smile, in fact and for the next Franco-French However, it seems that the "States General of Christianity" have welcomed a non-farnçais, one in the person of the ubiquitous Nicomedes Santa Butterfly, head of the household Eufrankenstein at Yessanipe, near the town of Agony at Muristan).
-
Another recent event occurred within the Catholic Church in France: the "fine step" smoothly from Rome by the Holy See, the French Catholic communities as "new" or say "charismatic .
-
In this regard, the French Catholic Blog 'The lounge beige', October 2010, cites An article in the French Catholic weekly 'Christian Family': "The
P. Henry Donneaud , Dominican Province of Toulouse, previously assistant to the religious community Beatitudes , was appointed Sept. 30 by the Prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life Apostolic Papal commissioner. His main task will be to guide the community in redefining its status. He was interrogated in Family Christian : "At first the community was Beatitudes composed primarily of lay people who wanted to live in community radicalism of the Gospel ".
-
'Christian Family' adds, citing the Father Donneaud" "Then came to her bosom men and women who felt called to celibacy, and began to wear the dress. They have become the majority. It is a grace, but it was problematic, because we can not ask the laity to govern the religious, any more than not. The Church is anxious to respect the greatness of every state of life. Theology of marriage requires the sovereignty of spouses, Then a monk abandons his life in the hands of a superior. They can not have the same 'shepherd'.
-
'Christian Family' continues, citing Donneaud Father, "" The community has suffered a real hemorrhage in recent years, a good third of the members left. This process has created a shock among many. (...) The Community of the Beatitudes is far from the new community most affected (Note to Michael Withers: So saying, Father Donneaud is charitable and is to his credit, it said, these are the all the Catholic communities called "new" or "charismatic" which are covered by the Holy See, in effect, rules that the Congregation for Institutes of apostolic life, put in place within the community of the Beatitudes, these rules will be implemented by the Holy See in all communities and fraternities, and in this respect, the community of the Beatitudes, which contains no substantive defect usually will be fewer rules to establish some eccentric communities and fraternities which govern the consecrated lay Home laity, women govern men, men govern women, the religious governing lay free electrons govern those they want, do what they want and say what they want without it being allowed to say "bah! "Or even" phew! ").
-
'Christian Family' concludes, quoting Father Donneaud "" It (the community of Beatitudes) contains no substantive defect general. On the role of the 'shepherd', a process of clarification is necessary. Some germs sixty eighters-or idealistic characteristics of a fledgling community will disappear. I think the concept of shepherd will no longer exist in the new statutes, since the states of life will separate branches. As the founder Ephraim, to my knowledge there is no longer part of the community, while still regarded and respected as the founder ".
-
The Catholic Church in France is also in crisis because of all leanings ( modernists, progressives, traditionalists, conservatives, charismatic), it regularly insult - it ment - American Christian people, the Jewish people in diaspora and the Jewish people in Israel. Indeed, the Catholic Church of France, all tendencies , for example, has lent its support to organizations Mohammedan jihadi as "NGO" Turkish fundamentalist who had set up the sting in the fleet for Hamastan, aka Strip.
-
Thus, on the Site French Catholic 'Christians in the City' (
http://chretiensdanslacite.com/ ), I researched, some time ago, the prose here is distressing that which I do not know if it is still there or if it was removed a posteriori (excerpts): "Several Catholic organizations condemn the attack against the convoy to Gaza. Christians in the city joins in denouncing state terrorism of Israel, rogue state "(Note Michael Withers: So, the signatories of this prestigious prose distressing signatories that I mention later in this article, the signatories denounced" the state terrorism of Israel, rogue state "is this the official view of the Catholic Church in France? Is this the official view of the universal Church, the Vatican and the Holy See?).
-
Prose distressing continued: "Justice and Peace-France, France Mission, Pax Christi France, Christians in the Mediterranean, the Catholic Committee against Hunger and for Development and Relief Catholic strongly condemn the attack by Israeli troops against the fleet that was trying to reach Gaza. " Prose distressing added this: "These organizations express their deep indignation and serious concern. Their thoughts are with the many victims who are to be deplored and their families "(End of excerpts from prose distressing published on the Site French Catholic 'Christians in the City').
-
The signatories of this appalling prose? They are: Bishop Michel Dubost, President of Justice and Peace-France, Monsignor Yves Paternoster, bishop of the Mission of France Marc Bishop Stenger, president of Pax Christi France; J-Claude Petit, President of Christians in the Mediterranean; Relieves Francis, president of Catholic Relief Services, and Guy Aurenche, president of the Catholic Committee against Hunger and for Development.
-
The French Catholics have denounced "the state terrorism of Israel, a rogue state." Prestigious signatories - Gentlemen by it and by then presidents - who returned to their account, the version of the flotilla, the version given by fundamentalist terrorists of Hamas and the Turkish fundamentalist Erdogan, Prime Minister and leader of his country Turkish Islamic party. The version of the fleet version given by the dictators of Syria, Libya and Iran, the television channel Al Jazeera, the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Conference.
-
These prestigious signatories - over here and Gentlemen Presidents by then - were they consulted, even if only once, videos, photos and articles on the Turkish fleet to the jihadist Hamastan , videos, photos and articles that we published (among many other sites and many blogs) on
http://drzz.info/ and http://monde-info.blogspot.com/ ?
-
In conclusion, we can try to understand the origins of the crisis of faith in the Catholic Church in general and especially in the Catholic Church in France? What the French Catholics were they afraid? Whence this autism and this anachronism that makes them blind to the spectrum of the caliphate weighing all his weight on France Judeo-Christian?
-
Where does this renewed Judeophobia, the French Catholic blogosphere, which publishes "Comments" and "posts" such as we had not played since the year 1930-1940 in the press Vichy? Yet once: what the French Catholics were they afraid? Where does this need to nurture their faith, or rather, their lack of faith, by conspiracy theories totally absurd, totally surreal, usually drawn by France in the land of Islam?
-
Their aggressiveness - such as a new Judeophobia - is it an aggression that hides a sense of guilt and fear? Why do they not bear the slightest criticism? Are they afraid of any retribution (Vergeltung)? Or are they afraid of the state of abandonment (Verlassenheit) in God's hands? Are allergic the concept of free society Judeo-Christian? Victims of National Socialism, the victims of Soviet communism and the victims of Islamic terrorism would they then died for nothing and without that we draw the real lesson?

Replacing Hub Bearings On Polaris 500

Parisian shopping session

One of my favorite places in Paris is Le Bon Marché . Criticized as being expensive, snobbish and elitist by some, it has a calming effect on me, and I go when I want to clear my head (and wallet, actually). Luxury department store, of course, but a true temple of refinement as well. When I need to take a break from me to feast my eyes, pretty things, hop, I jump into the bus for the chic 7th Borough and Sevres-Babylon (Bab-Sevres for short). On the ground floor, the radius handbag is still my favorite place to put me in the legs. It includes large and very big names, but also a selection of more advanced designers who vary by season. Right now, it is the TBM (which means vouchers), and one can find a Longchamp at 30 € for example. Then, towards the center of the store with the hats and cosmetics department where one can find sublime caps overpriced. I did buy anything, but I like to dream and inspiration. Around are the radius and pantyhose ultra-complete, all brands are represented, the least expensive (Sun, Le Bourget Wolford) to the more expensive (today I saw beautiful 100% cashmere socks to 90 € the pair).

I usually then mounted directly on the 3rd and last floor where notions hiding in the attic. Such notions, is a paradise for knitters and seamstresses Apprentice (like me). Again, there is everything, and it is sure to find happiness with hundreds of spools of all colors, soft wools and beautiful, beautiful storage boxes where his works ... Well, sometimes it is better to take his misfortune patiently to succeed in attracting the attention of a salesperson when you need advice, but it's worth, because they know it! In a word, a place worth visiting!
Finally, I get down on the first floor and I cross the bridge that leads over the Grande Epicerie direction upstairs mode which combines a very nice selection of brands: American Vintage, Kookai, Comptoir des Cotonniers, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Maje, Sessun, etc. ...
Then I end with a trip to the Grande Epicerie, this magical place where everything that is not found elsewhere (products English, Italian, U.S.). This is THE supermarket bourgeois, because the prices are much more expensive than elsewhere, but from time to time, there is finds.
So, racing results, I returned with two pairs of tights by Le Bourget balance (one black, one pink fuschia), balls of wool do you want in here (what beautiful knitting scarves for Christmas gifts for girlfriends) and a gray wool jacket and cashmere Kookai, resulted in too, to keep me warm in the office.
I also made a little detour to the Maison du Chocolat, on the other side of the Boulevard Raspail, where I had the pleasure to taste a delicious milk chocolate ganache and pieces of lace pancakes that I can only advise you!

Tess of the D'Urbervilles (BBC adaptation 2008) Veronica Mars

This BBC mini-series of 4 one-hour episodes is an adaptation of the famous classic novel by Thomas Hardy, written by David Nicholls and directed by David Blair.

Tess Durbeyfield (Gemma Aterton the sublime, which finds a role to its height) is the eldest daughter of a couple of poor farmers who discover they have blood noble and, after financial difficulties, which send their daughter to seek work away from their rich family. Tess hand so only live with the D'Urbervilles and his supposed cousin Alec (Hans Matheson), who has only one idea in mind: to seduce her.

Young and innocent, Tess does not realize immediately the gravity of the situation in which she filled until it is too late. The Machiavellian Alec him a trap ... Humiliated, Tess returns to her parents heal its wounds and bruised his honor, but fate has reserved an unpleasant surprise ...
Some time later she was again forced to look for work, she found a farm run by a caring family, where she was soon making friends, and the meeting of a nice and honorable minister's son, the charming Angel Clare (Eddie Redmayne, absolutely swoontastic). Despite his honor violated and the secret she keeps, she relented to his request and agrees to marry him, but the circumstances are going to play against her, and she will tell him his terrible fate rather than later.

Angel will he accept a woman defiled? Thus begins a downward spiral that will push Tess to a life of misery and misfortune. Angel and Tess will meet them? Can they overcome obstacles to their love? For the diabolical Alec, seeking repentance, has not said its last word ...

Dear readers, you'll understand the story of Tess has nothing to do with that of a Jane Austen novel! It's tragic, tragic and yet tragic, so sensitive souls refrain! But this adaptation, though obliged to pay in the sordid seen the fate that awaits her heroine, is still full of qualities. First, and as usual with the BBC series, the choice of actors and their interpretation are simply excellent. The magnificent scenery of the West of England are beautifully tortured characters.
Obviously, if we try to spend a fun and entertaining evening, it is best not, therefore, because frankly, there will be many opportunities to get out the tissues! But I really liked both the tone is right and everything is impeccably done.

Jacques Maritain, my older brother in the Zionism Catholic

-
I reproduce, below, are excerpts adapted by me, an article in "Echoes of Israel "(see link to the source at the bottom of page) article that mentions the Catholic thinker Jacques Maritain judéophile. Jacques Maritain as I usually nicknamed "my elder brother in the Catholic Zionism": "Recognized in Europe and the Americas as the foremost representative of Catholic thought in the 20th century, Jacques Maritain [1882-1973] was by its commitments most varied, constantly present in the great debates of his time. Translated into several languages, the book master "integral humanism ', laid the foundations for a new Christianity, no more' sacred 'as the Middle Ages, but' secular 'and open to the values of the modern world. The day of his death, his friend, Pope Paul VI said of him: "He was a master in the art of thinking, living, praying." In this connection, an anecdote that occurred during the Pope's visit in India does not fail to be illuminating. Indeed, during a private interview with President Shastri, Paul VI was moved to hear say quite simply 'My mentor, Jacques Maritain!' because he could have made the same admission.
-
Given his stance against the onslaught of Nazism, in Germany, it is not surprising that following the occupation of the area north of the country, one of the first steps of the Gestapo was to contact the Institute Catholique in Paris to ask where was the teacher of philosophy. As he was already speaking tour in Canada, he wished to return to France to attend to the suffering of his family, but his disciple and friend, Abbe Charles Journet - now later Cardinal - telephoned him declare bluntly: "I order you to stay where you are!".
-
It would be superfluous to state that broke from the start with the noxious atmosphere of the Vichy regime. During the war, Maritain's apartment in New York, became a haven of peace where many casualties resulted from the 'New Idea' a title which the Nazi party loved to wrap himself. The art historian, Focillon, the Nobel Sigri Undset, Chagall, Elizabeth Miribel, secretary to the chief of 'Free France', and many others still came here to recharge. From there, left as many visa applications as its prestige allowed him to do for Jewish intellectuals who were desperate means to leave a continent has become inhospitable. The voluntary exile could later evoke the oppressive climate of the time. 'Years of New York, besieged by despair while the swastika was triumphant in Europe, he still had to support the hearts (and that's when Raisa, who was Jewish and the wife of Jacques Maritain, had the injury the most cruel, burning the mind at the sight of the agony of the oppressed and persecuted, and the horror of a world that seemed to abandon God) '.
-
The manifesto that he published shortly after the 1940 defeat: 'Through the disaster, had such an impact on the first volunteers of the Resistance he was asked to institutionalize its aid to supporters of Free France . Thus began the long series of posts that 'Radio London' broadcast every week in connection with the issue 'The French speak French to where Andrew Welsh and John Marin watched over the flame. It was one of the highlights of these programs announced by the initial pattern - Fate knocks at the door - the Fifth Symphony of Beethoven. Morse code designating the letter 'V', the signal-Pan Pan-Pan-pam intended to remind the enemy - in his own language - he was not alone in thinking of the Victory.
-
Not surprisingly, with such conditions of service, the country would once again appeal to him asking him to assume, from 1945 to 1948, the ambassador of France to the Holy See. "I got home, he said in New York on 1 January 1945, having failed to abandon de Gaulle and GB, then Minister of Foreign Affairs, for their project to appoint me ambassador to the Vatican. Accepting that I was morally obliged by their insistence, and the feeling that I could not shirk a task requested on behalf of the country still at war had reduced to a kind of despair. "
-
A faithful witness - No Christian has ever found, as Jacques Maritain's own words to touch the sensibilities of Israel. Having attended quite a few, Karl Stern was well placed to speak. "No member of the Church he said, seemed to have never understood with equal penetration the Jewish problem. He spoke with a peculiar vagueness, making light touch rather than assertions, and yet everything he said gave an impression of substance and clarity. I felt from the first minute the feeling of a direct personal strangely pleasant and was the result of a lot of charity and humility. " Innate foresight had led to see in Nazism hysteria deleterious trends. The moment the shadow of manchineel poisoned the sap began to expand, he feared that the people elected would become the first victim of his evil presence. Also, do not we do better than allow such a thinker about the drama which he could not think of pain without vertigo.

Excerpts from a lecture given in Paris at the Théâtre des Ambassadeurs, February 5, 1938: "Anti-Semitism appears to be a pathological phenomenon which reveals an alteration of the Christian conscience when it becomes incapable of making their own responsibilities in the history, and remain faithful to the high existentially requirements of Christian truth. So, instead of recognizing in the trials and terrors of history the visitation of God, and to undertake the tasks of justice and charity required by that very fact, it falls back on the ghosts of substitution for an entire race, which certain specific excuses, justified or not, he used to give consistency, and giving vent to feelings of hatred she feels justified by religion, it seeks for itself a kind of alibi. . "To stoke the fire that burns the bad people, there is in Europe today, those who want the extermination and death and the extermination of the Jews first - because that is what it is, is not it, ultimately? - And which, under the unit of scientism stupid racist or forged documents, hidden to other men, and sometimes to themselves, the mad hope of a general massacre of the race of Moses and Jesus. The massacre remains a dream, the seeds of hate that fill the atmosphere are a reality. It would take a lot of love and a spirit of justice and charity to clean up this atmosphere. "
- Excerpts from a
lecture given at the Theatre Marigny, February 8, 1939: "Commenting on the words of the Canon of the Mass Sacrificium Patriarchae nostri Abrahae, the sacrifice of Abraham our Father, Pope (Pius XI) exclaimed:" Note that Abraham is called our patriarch, our ancestor. Anti-Semitism is incompatible with the lofty thought and reality that are expressed here. It is a movement in which we Christians can have no part. Spiritually we are Semites. "Spiritually we are Semites: no stronger word has been pronounced by a Christian against anti-Semitism, and this is the Christian successor of the apostle Peter. " "Our time to offer unheard treats homicidal demons. [... ] The huge roar that rises from the concentration camps is not perceptible to our ears, but it penetrates the fibers of the hidden life of the world and the unseen vibration tears. "
-
If that is sublime in JM denouncing the crimes of racism, the evocation of his thought would be incomplete if we failed to remember what he wrote about the state of Israel a few years after his foundation. At the end of a work in which he summarized his views on anti-Semitism, he wondered about the possibility of reconciling the nodal direction of Judaism with the reality of a state surrounded by enemies ruthless and cynical. In the introduction to the Mystery of Israel, yet he recognized its limitations facing such a venture: "Actually, I was hoping that before I could bring these texts speak of a sufficient depth of a subject - the State of Israel - without which the study can not be properly treated now with respect to the Jewish people. I had I merely propose the thoughts that I think are essential, while apologizing to address in a way too brief a great subject. "
-
In June 1947, his wife, Raissa Maritain, composed the poem entitled 'The Name of Israel': Name
winged iridescent broken sounds of the river on stones
name with Israel and sky! Israel! Name
Echo
sincere tears and cries
Song of divine tenderness
Chalice gifts of the Spirit of His Promises
Etendard
Israel is saved from eternal salvation
Israel! Israel! .

(End of excerpts adapted by me, article published in 'An echo of Israel' article that mentions the Catholic thinker Jacques Maritain judéophile).
