Stop New Shoes Rubbing

Emma (BBC 2009)

To continue the theme of Period dramas and adaptations of Jane Austen, I speak to you today an excellent mini-series broadcast last year by the BBC and is well worth seeing.

we can place: Emma is the story of a rich girl, funny, intelligent and somewhat futile likes nothing better than to meddle in the affairs of other and play matchmaker. She lives alone with her father, Mr Woodhouse wildly anxious, after the marriage of her governess. When she meets the delightfully silly Harriet Smith, she has only one idea in mind: to find the ideal husband, but his plans will soon be endangered. The arrival of Frank Churchill, step-son of his housekeeper, will put the small community of Highbury in turmoil, and Mr. Knightley, brother and longtime friend of Emma, trying to prevent the disastrous consequences that his actions could have, but in vain ...

This mini-series of four one-hour episodes each (which can grow well in history) is simply brilliant and full of features! It far exceeds my opinion, the movie starring Gwyneth Paltrow. Romola Garai is the perfect Emma, lively, funny, and carefree charm who leads with his own little world to the stick. All the fans agree say she epitomizes is saying! The other main and secondary characters are equally remarkable work of Michael Gambon to Jonny Lee Miller (as Mr. Knightley), they are all fantastic. Then, the atmosphere and decor are beautiful, perfect music, in short, a real gem to look very quickly, for fans of Jane Austen and others ...
