As director, I'm obviously used to seeing people, faces, eyes. As I said often when I make an interview or by welcoming the guests on our TV set, it is easy to cheat with words is more difficult with the body, attitudes, postures (this requires a Some technical and exercises), but the look is much more difficult - in short, the eyes are really a mirror. And there are people whose eyes showed inner experiences, authenticity. And for me, it speaks to me more than the blah-blah and speeches agreed, be they political or religious.
-
We received some time ago as part of Ze Mag a Palestinian sniper former Fatah (Ed. Tass Saada) and had the motto - he and his colleagues - "only a dead Jew is a good Jew. " During the show he briefly recounted his journey and how her discovery, through a friend of the Jewish Jesus had led to a radical upheaval. How can we accept, as a Muslim, able to remain ensconced in a grove for 20 hours without moving, with a sniper rifle and a mission to "eliminate" another Jew - how to agree to "receive" anything or a Jew - without wanting to smash everything, including the head of his interlocutor? Impossible. In short - story exciting.
-
And I, in-house, in front of my screens are the broadcast, I see this guy, which I can hardly imagine childhood (originally from Gaza, moved and became close to the royal family in Saudi Arabia before moving alongside the PLO) - and her eyes speak to me - his eyes shows me someone calm, someone who has discovered, launched, or at least glimpsed behind the scenes. No militant claim, no cliché, slogan "warrior" for or against this or that. What I see is a man who bathed his youth in an ideology, a culture of hatred of the other culture that has logically led to his "connection" with his ideas and become a criminal - who today speaks of peace among peoples, reconciliation and even inner peace!
-
And this guy does not look "shot" to religion, he is sitting and talking quietly. No, apparently it went well something "inside". He was a child victim of "beliefs" of his entourage (a bit like all of us eventually) and he discovered, and experienced very concretely, much later, a true liberation being confronted with reality. He met "for real" Christians and Jews. The fantasy has given way to reality and the challenge was so deep he could finally realize his state of subjection - and live a Meeting liberating.
-
Like what, agree to think and question is not necessarily dangerous.
