While Francois Fillon inaugurates mosque Argenteuil, Aid to the Church Distressed (*) indicates that Rehmat Masih was jailed by the police of Faisalabad (Pakistan) for "blasphemy". He had been accused by Sajid Hameed, its Muslim neighbor to have insulted the Prophet Muhammad. For Father Asi Khalid Rashi, Vicar General of the diocese of Faisalabad, "the accusation is false cons Rehmat Masih, the case has been mounted to camouflage a different land." For years, local Catholic leaders are speaking out for the repeal of anti-blasphemy laws, listed in the Penal Code and misused. More than a thousand people have already been victims.
-
Secretary General of the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace Pakistan, Peter Jacob, told Aid to the Church in Need reasons for the status quo: "On one hand there is the fight against terrorism, which requires maintaining a state of emergency in the country and, therefore, do nothing. On the other, there is the issue of Pakistani identity: although a constitution and secular laws, partisan politics are pushing to keep the situation as it is, in the name of Islam. The government Pakistan must wake up and take responsibility, legislative and policy ".
-
Asked by Fides, Bishop Max John Rodrigues, Bishop of Hyderabad, is developing: "The body has the power to act is Parliament, where laws are approved and can be repealed. But now many MPs fear: they are intimidated because they are a possible target of attacks by extremists. The country, indeed, as fighting terrorism, targeted killings, attacks using dynamite against institutions and security forces. Public men are afraid for their lives and situations fails to disengage. "
A European Parliament resolution adopted May 20, 2010, calls "the Pakistani government to thoroughly review the blasphemy laws and their actual application."
-
Since June 7, Aid to the Church in Need has launched a major campaign lobbying for the repeal of anti-blasphemy laws in Pakistan, so that the European resolution is applied. The AED needs us. Christians in Pakistan also.

Abstract: There are many suburbs of France, England, Germany, Italy, where it is indigenous people who must be "integrated" by the people from elsewhere and occupying all the land without mercy. Aboriginal people who are - at home - to be accepted by foreigners who have imposed their laws and customs and abusing unlimited claims.
-
Full Text: Despite the repeated denial of civil and official institutions, sometimes religious coexistence among human cultures and backgrounds are serious problems in the daily lives of our democracies. Each day brings a variety of facts illustrating the painful clash of civilizations "in terms of man and woman in-the-world. This sensitive issue - obviously subject to recoveries various politicians - however, can not be approached as a purely politically correct "human rights". Certainly, humanistic consciences are challenged by the recommendations of international bodies that recognize the plight of refugees, when driven from their homes by civil war, violence or discrimination. Think of the persecuted Christians in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan and elsewhere. The ethical obligations of home, in these very specific cases, are obvious. But when certain speech (logical left or ecclesiastical worldliness) tend to globalize issues, and to exclude in advance any discernment of situations, and all control flows constant, there is something questionable.
-
Indeed, when individuals or families arrive in a country in Europe, mostly underground and mostly from Islamic regions, the imperative of welcoming the stranger can not be applied systematically and indiscriminate. While a significant proportion of individuals and groups fleeing conjunctures of misery, war, persecution, others - the majority - are simply trying their luck in savings more generous. However, for about forty years, millions of individuals from predominantly Muslim countries have migrated and settled in the cities of the nations of the European Judeo-Christian. Such a transfer of allogeneic stand in such a short time has never happened before on the old continent. The consequences of these massive settlements stand in times of declining birth rates are not all Western predictable, and certainly the leaders apparently did not much taken into consideration.
-
It is clear that further our Western countries can not afford to host "All the misery of the Third World" in Form rocardienne. Should he not rather significant increase in EU aid, with on-site inspections in countries that truly seek to build productive structures? Do we not multiply emergency experiences of fair trade, to provide new opportunities for farmers in poor countries and to consolidate sustainable development? What criteria can we highlight today to address the ethical challenge of "welcoming the stranger" but by providing answers in touch with reality and whose equation economy is sustainable for taxpayers concerned?
-
Quite frequently, the impact churches more or less relevant appeals to the Scriptures we address regarding the home country. But if one looks like a slogan that recommends the Judeo-Christian tradition in this field, there is a risk of losing sight of the criteria appropriate to the news and its issues. Hospitality, welcome, men and women of the Bible know what they're talking about. In a different context than our modern nations, they have migrated there are four thousand years to the Fertile Crescent land of Canaan. These regions have long known all sorts of movements of people in large areas where sedentary lifestyles and homelessness did not correspond to what it is today. In Israel's history, we know that some lean times, tribes are left to work in Egypt. The founder of the Exodus episode is from this situation of a people struggling with the living conditions of the host country become unbearable and captor of his future.
-
With compassion, says the Scripture, the God of Abraham and Moses has sided with the Hebrews became slaves, and he helped, not to assimilate but to return freely to their land, a land of promise for human development. On the basis of a covenant, God encouraged the people to take ownership of its history and to strengthen his spiritual identity as a space civilization. This was further confirmed during the return from exile in Babylon to Jerusalem. In biblical faith, the human being is "image of God", hence the respect for human dignity is the foundation of the charter of the alliance. We know why the quality of reception of immigrants in the land of Israel is so heavily emphasized in Scripture, 'You do not vex abroad, and you do not oppress, because you yourselves been strangers in the land of Egypt "(Ex 22 / 21). And again: "The stranger that lives with you, you will treat it like a native, as one of you. You love him as yourself "(Lv 19/33).
-
Should clarify, to illuminate today's discussion, that a stranger was welcomed and respected within the overarching framework of a certain reciprocity that is lacking today. We read in Exodus 12/49: 'One law for the native and the stranger who sojourns among you! . With this proactive lighting to be understood the appeal of Jesus: "I was a stranger and you welcomed me! "(Matt 25/35). If any foreigner expected to be treated with dignity, he should in turn respect the laws and customs of Israel, the host country, that is to say, desist from imposing its guests its own customs. The prophets were certainly the first to denounce the selfishness of the son of Israel when it was needed, but they also strongly denounced the importation customs alien dangerous spiritual unity of the legitimate inhabitants of the country.
- Multiple
beliefs of paganism were indeed incompatible with the values of the Biblical Tradition, where wisdom and prophecy will not be idolized as the power, money, sex. And excludes all forms of magic and superstition, harmful to humans, only the God of the fathers being the guarantor of justice and social harmony. Even if the rules of communal life are certain precautionary limits, provided there is no xenophobia in the tradition of Israel. Think of the episodes of Naaman the Syrian or Elijah to the widow of Zarephath. Can be seen, the use of asylum exists in the Bible: Moses instituted by establishing six cities of refuge to allow such a man prosecuted for a crime of involuntary escape punishment expeditious. He spoke from experience! The book of Isaiah also gives us a preview of this right when it comes to welcome the survivors of the massacres of the neighboring kingdom of Moab (Isaiah 16 / 3).
-
very early Christian Church has reframed this recourse to asylum in its canon law and the Code of Theodosius guarantees modalities, although since the Council of Toledo (7th century) restrictions are made in the fight against abuse. Regarding the reception of foreigners, migrants and refugees, in the 21st century, the teaching of the Church offers balanced lighting. Unlike some politicians and demagogic speeches, the Magisterium is always at pains to coexist rights and duties, to avoid Manichaeism. Let us on this subject to § 2241 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church: "The better endowed nations are required to accommodate as many as possible foreign in search of security and vital resources that it can not find in his country of origin.
-
But let's not forget the following lines: Political authorities, for the common good, make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various legal requirements, including respect for the immigrants' duties in respect of adopted country. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of its host country, to obey its laws and contribute to its expenses. " The emergence in our welfare states, a claim ideologically "Multicultural" raises serious questions for the future. For if the cultural and spiritual identity of the host gradually fades in favor of a variable geometry relativism, the idea of integrating foreigners loses all meaning. Integrate into what?
-
There are many suburbs of France, England, Germany, Italy, where they are the indigenous people who must be "integrated" by the people from other places and occupying all the land without mercy.
-
Natives who are - at home - to be accepted by foreigners who have imposed their laws and customs and abusing unlimited claims. While it is intolerable that are despised by prejudice persons belonging to other cultures, it is equally unacceptable that indigenous people are guilty and continually squeezed.

Cover Up Pedestal Sink Pipes

Islam - West: common confusions.

Increasingly, the media portrays Islam in a language confusion and approximation. Under the guise of repetitive references lies a huge ignorance of religious issues and conflicts of the spiritual values involved. Quite naive chroniclers tell us continually "religions of the Book", believing probably designate the "three monotheistic religions," another buzzword, but it also trapped: the religion of Zarathustra is also a monotheism, but what counts This is not the conceptual framework, the content, or the God of the Bible and Allah does not overlap at all. The two keywords biblical "covenant" and "love" do not exist in the Koran, and the term "kill" is mentioned more than "pray." Many readers apparently unaware that the unmarked term "religions of the Book" is exclusively an Islamic perspective. This is the famous "Ahl al Kittab" the Koran, which aims to distinguish Jews and Christians, accused of having falsified the Scriptures, the Bible and Gospel, returned to their truth by the only Quranic revelation, of course! Religions of the Book, Judaism and Christianity?
-
Certainly not! Rather religions of the Living Word, in a human writing inspired, therefore analyzable, sheller and interpreted, what the Koran does not, as untouchable sacred writing which expresses Allah in person. The Koran considers Jesus as a Muslim prophet as well as Adam, Noah, Moses and David, although its role is somewhat enhanced ... Capture complete, precisely because the Quran Jesus (Issa) has nothing in common with Messiah of the Gospels. The hadith also shows returning to the end of time "to destroy the cross and kill pigs" to introduce to the world the only true faith: Islam. Can be seen easily: Judaism and Christianity have the same problem of "relative to each other" than Islam. The Jewish and Christian Scriptures deliver a message that speaks sympathetically to all human beings without discrimination. In the Koran Allah is for Muslims and non-Muslim threat.
-
It's a totally different approach in which otherness is problematic because the universe is divided into dar al Islam (domain of Islam) and dar al harb (domain of war). Thus, the rights of each other are not the same (dhimmitude) and the infidels are targeted. It is often used argument to justify the Crusades Jihad (Islamic holy war). Yet the jihad is part of the Mohammedan doctrine from its beginnings as a war of conquest. The notion of jihad as a spiritual effort often cited as a diversion is recent, largely popularized by the Sufi movement, himself reviled by official Islam. It captures well why the first Crusade was a legitimate reaction of Western aggression against Muslims who had seized militarily holy places (with destruction of the tomb of Christ and abuse of Christians), but also, lest we forget not, of Spain, Sicily. We must remember that the Islamic foundational texts encourage every believer to a holy war (mentioned by the pseudo-bucolic formula "in the way of Allah") which is obviously not the case for Judeo-Christian writings turned to harmony and supply of faith without any constraints.
-
But the Koranic verse "no compulsion in religion" often cited by Muslims in "dialogues" to appease the religious pilgrim, sadly, is repealed by the chapters that followed during the period of Medina and its bellicose processions of wanton killings ... While Turkey stomp into Europe, no one can forget the disaster of of Constantinople in 1453 by the Ottoman Turks who originally asked the hospitality in Byzantium by being blandly go for a peaceful shepherds of the steppes. Many interfaith unanimist junk like to say that the method Coué Judaism, Christianity and Islam have much in common that Benedict XVI in Regensburg should ignore the awkward questions. Usual demagogy in the service of a dialogue based on fallacies illusory: all religions are equal, we have the same God, etc.. It's very trendy and especially handy for evading the real discernment, those who can advance on a path that is not a fool but involves, from a real spiritual identity, to a truth which respect for others and reciprocity found meaning.
